Capabilities
Engineered Plastic Components has molding machine capacities ranging from 2 oz. 50 ton clamp to 48 oz. 500 ton clamp. This machine range is spread over 150 molding machines equipped with state of the art closed loop process controls. Included in these 150 machines are four (4) Van Dorn/Demag Rotary C-Frame Machines and one (1) Shuttle C-Frame Machine. Giving us the capability to perform insert and over-molding requirements our customers may have. All of our conventional molding machines are equipped with closed loop process control and robotic sprue pickers for ease of automation. Experience in assembly technologies is evidenced by the more than 70 fully automated assembly systems in production today. These systems produce subassemblies and finished products made up of as many as eight (8) components. Each system incorporates 100% assembly verification. R.F. Welding, Ultrasonic Welding, Hot Foil Transfer Stamping, Pad Printing, Ink Jet Printing, Laser Printing, and Vision System Inspection are among our commonly used technologies for assembly and decorating. Our facility houses a Product Validation Laboratory to perform customer required testing. Among our current test capabilities are:
- mechanical shock
- thermal shock
- tensile strength
- vibration
- combined temperature/humidity
- dielectric testing
Complete dimensional layout capability is provided by a staff of nine technicians using state of the art equipment including contact and vision coordinate measuring machines. Each customer project is assigned a Program Manager who coordinates the project activity and serves as a liaison to our customer. The Program Manager is supported by team members assigned from Product and Tool Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Automation, and Facilities Engineering.
